PT Barata Indonesia (Persero) continues to expand the export market of manufacturing products produced. New Barata Indonesia conducted a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with French Naval Group on Indodefense 2025 (12/6).

This strategic partnership was driven by the results of a survey of Barata workshop facilities in Gresik by the technical team of Naval Group, which validates the production capability of international standard defense components. The Naval Group’s decision to establish formal cooperation was taken directly after their technical team conducted a thorough inspection and directly observed the workshop facilities and production line owned by Barata Indonesia in Gresik, East Java.

Naval Group visit is focused on competence and production facilities of Barata Indonesia. Naval’s team of experts had the opportunity to directly evaluate the capacity of workshops, cutting-edge technology, manufacturing processes and implementation of international quality standards that are the backbone of Barata’s operation. “Naval Group trust is not given for granted; they come, check and then decide to partner.

For Barata, it is an effort to expand the export market by becoming the world’s leading supply chain company. “The signing of this MoU is a direct result of their evaluation of facilities owned by Barata Indonesia,”” said Director of PT Barata Indonesia (Persero), Hertyoso Nursasongko.”

“They are witnessing themselves how our workshops are able to produce casting products and industrial components with high precision. This trust paved the way for export of strategic components to a strict European market and we are ready to answer this challenge.” The cooperation is also in line with Barata Indonesia’s commitment to continuously innovate and increase capacity to meet the needs of the energy, oil & gas and global maritime sectors.

As a result of the inspection of production facilities, the two sides agreed to accelerate the realization of the initial collaboration project. The signing of the MoU is Barata Indonesia’s positive step in expanding global networking and stamping feet in the international shipping and maritime industries.
