Indonesian Defense Minister, Lieutenant General Tri Budi Utomo, on April 15, 2024, in the Secretary General’s office at the Ministry of Defense Building in Jakarta.

During the meeting, Hertyoso Nursasongko, Director of PT Barata Indonesia (Persero), outlined several potential strategic collaborations to support the strengthening of the defense industry ecosystem. This includes readiness to provide components needed by the Ministry of Defense, including support for PT PAL Indonesia for the casting of Frigate Warship components, as well as readiness to support the production of the Maung tactical vehicle (rantis) developed by PT Pindad. PT Barata Indonesia (Persero) also expressed its readiness to optimize the company’s manufacturing facilities to meet defense industry standards.

Furthermore, Barata Indonesia’s collaboration with state-owned defense enterprises (Pindad and PAL) is an effort to increase the use of domestic components (TKDN). This collaborative effort is expected to stimulate the domestic manufacturing industry and support the fulfillment of the Indonesian National Armed Forces’ (TNI) defense needs.
