PT Barata Indonesia (Persero), proactively improving the culture of occupational safety and health (K3) through the implementation of Internal Training 5R (17/6). This training is specifically intended for employees of the production line at the factory, the Company’s workshop staff, who interact directly with the operational work area.
Training materials are focused on the deepening and direct practice of five 5R pillars: Compact (Seiri), Tidy (Seiton), Risk (Seiso), Rawat (Seiketsu), and Diligently (Shitsuke). Participants are not only taught theories but also invited to simulate and identify problems in real work environments.
The core of this training is to equip each individual with a deep understanding of how consistent 5R implementation can significantly reduce the risk of work accidents and exposure to hazards.
“This 5R training is not just about neatness, but is a critical foundation to create a safe and efficient working environment, said Director of PT Barata Indonesia (Persero), Hertyoso Nursasongko.” By mastering 5R, each employee, especially in factories and workshops, becomes better able to recognize the potential risks and hazards around them, such as unstable stacked goods, slippery areas, unordered equipment, or leaks that could potentially cause incidents.
This collective vigilance is the key to prevention, he added that good 5R implementation directly contributes to minimizing various types of hazards. For example, the application of Compact and Neat removes barriers and harmful objects from the movement path, reducing the risk of stumbling or overwriting. Risks ensure oil spills or flakes are cleaned directly, preventing slipping.
While Care and Diligence guarantees a standard of cleanliness and neatness remain awake and the use of Self-Protective Tools (APD) becomes a habit, protecting employees from exposure to dust, chemicals, or sparks. Barata Indonesia affirms its commitment to continuously invest in human resource development and the improvement of K3 standards. 5R training for factory employees and workshops is a real step in building the full awareness of each individual’s own safety. and co-workers, towards creating a zero accident work environment and supporting sustainable productivity.
