Having previously engaged in cooperation in the field of Power Plant, PT Barata Indonesia (Persero) signed another a Strategic Alliance Agreement with Siemens Aktiengesellschaft on March 20, 2018 at Ministry Building BUMN, Jakarta.

This time Barata Indonesia and Siemens AG will cooperate in the field of turbine units which Barata Indonesia will be a strategic partner for turbines manufactured by Siemens AG, especially for the Sugar Industry

The cooperation was signed by the President Director of Barata Indonesia, Silmy Karim. Siemens AG was represented by Simon Kemnitzer and witnessed by Deputy Minister of Mining, Strategic Industries and Media, Ministry of State Owned Enterprise, Fajar Harry Sampurno.

President Director of Barata Indonesia said “This cooperation is very important for Barata Indonesia to further strengthen the position of Barata Indonesia as a company that exist in the field of sugar industry. In addition, this is also a good opportunity for companies to expand to support the competencies that have been there, ” Said Silmy.

Siemens AG  choosed Barata Indonesia as a strategic partner because,  Barata Indonesia has a long experience and history in the sugar factory industry in Indonesia, which is since the Dutch colonial era and. Barata also  has capability in the maintenance and production of sugar factory components to the construction of a complete sugar mill with a capacity up to 15,000 TCD.

Furthermore, in order to accelerate the mastery of technology, cooperation with Siemens AG, thise cooperation also includes capacity building program of Human Resources Barata employee through internship programs and training in related fields.
