Towards the end of the year, PT Barata Indonesia (Persero) managed to record a significant export value. Barata Indonesia’s export value has succeeded in breaking the 31 Million USD (rupiah exchange rate of Rp. 14,000).
The export was obtained from the two Indonesian Barata Divisions, namely the Component Industry and Machining Division through Foundry products, namely the Railway component, and the Power Plant Division which exports Power Plant components.
Like the previous years, Barata Indonesia foundry division exported to North American countries such as the United States, Mexico and Canada. While the Power Plant Component Division is more varied because it exports to various countries in the world. (see table).
In addition, the export value of 31 million USD in 2019 increased significantly when compared to the export value in 2018 which reached Rp. 16 Million USD.
President Director of Barata Indonesia, Fajar Harry Sampurno, said that the increasing export value of the company proves that the country’s manufacturing products are also capable of competing with other countries.
“We will continue to increase our export commitment to strengthen the company’s positioning in the national manufacturing industry. The plan is for 2020 we target the export value of 35 million USD, “said Harry.
Going forward, in 2020 Barata Indonesia will also continue to plan to increase export value as an effort to maintain its existence in the domestic manufacturing industry and as a form of increasing the country’s foreign exchange.
On the other hand, in 2020 the company will also take a big step to become the leader of theNational manufacturing industry cluster consisting of several state-owned companies engaged in manufacturing.
The company consists of PT Barata Indonesia (Persero), PT INKA (Persero), PT Boma Bisma Indra (Persero), PT IKI (Persero), PT Dok & Shipping Kodja Bahari (Persero) and PT Dok And Shipping Surabaya (Persero). At present, the Working Group for the Acceleration of Development National Manufacturing Industry has been formed and the related parties have consolidated to accelerate the formation of the manufacturing industry cluster.
The formation of the cluster is also not without foundation. The formation of the manufacturing industry cluster is a direct direction from the Minister of State Owned Enterprise, Erick Thohir through the Decree of the Minister of SOE’s RI Number: SK-290 / MBU / 11/2019 Concerning the Formation of the Team for the Acceleration Development of the National Manufacturing Industry . To support the improvement of the manufacturing industry to support national economy.
