Duro Felguera has signed a MOU (Memorandum of Understanding) with PT Barata Indonesia (Persero) for the joint development of turnkey EPC projects in the fields of power stations, bulk handling and hydrocarbon storage.
PT Barata Indonesia is one of the oldest state companies in Indonesia and specializes in the manufacturing and assembly of metallic structures for different industrial sectors. Given the high demand in South-East Asia in recent years for turnkey projects (related above all to power generation), Barata has built up an EPC department, whose purpose is to reinforce its presence in the target areas of this agreement with Duro Felguera.
By means of this MOU, Duro Felguera and Barata intend to add value to the joint delivery of local projects, reinforcing the synergies between the two companies. As a first step in the alliance, the companies have drawn up a list of potential clients and projects and appointed a joint work team to take care of them. The list includes short, medium and long-term opportunities and adds new products to their current backlog in the region.
South-East Asia is one of the regions which is targeted by Duro Felguera in its strategic plan. Signing alliances with powerful local partners which complement Duro Felguera’s capacities in this market is a fundamental part of the Company’s positioning in this area.
Thanks to the signing of this agreement, Duro Felguera has won a great regional ally to reinforce its penetration into the Asian market, while Barata has won a strategic partner with great experience in turnkey contracts.
