On this day of August 3, 2017 in Jakarta, PT. Barata Indonesia (Persero) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with PT Indonesia Power, a subsidiary of PT PLN (Persero).

The two companies agreed to cooperate in the field of  power plant, in which PT Barata Indonesia will become a partner who  provide components and maintenance services in power plant owned by  PT Indonesia Power.

The MOU was signed by President Director of PT Barata Indonesia (Persero) Silmy Karim and President Director of PT Indonesia Power, Sripeni Inten Cahyani at PT Indonesia Power Office, Jakarta.

President Director of PT Barata Indonesia (Persero) Silmy Karim stated, “This cooperation is an effort to increase the role of domestic industry development. Government policy on local content is very precise because it can encourage the growth of the national economy ,”

The Government of Indonesia, in this case the State Minister for State Owned Enterprises wants the participation of local companies in the 35 thousand MW power plant project to be upgraded as it is one way of making local companies more independent.

To that end, PT Barata Indonesia, appointed as the local coordinator of local content in the power plant project, has undertaken several strategic steps such as by conducting some cooperation with the stakeholders of electricity.

PT Barata Indonesia has experience in the field of power generation, both in manufacturing Bcomponents and in completing the development of steam power plants, Heat Recovery Steam Generato  and Micro Hydro Power Plant.

The current project is PLTU 2 NTB 2×25 MW in Lombok – NTB. It is targeted that 2 units of 25 MW packages will soon be able to supply electricity in the third quarter of 2017.

One of the efforts made by PT Barata Indonesia to succeed the national program of Mega power project 35 thousand Megawatt (MW), is to cooperate with several companies that have the capabilitiy in the field of  technology in order  to achieve the performance of power plants that will be built .
