The Minister of State-Owned Enterprises (BUMN) of the Republic of Indonesia through Decree Number: 284 / MBU / 11/2019 appointed PT Barata Indonesia (Persero) to be a member of the acceleration team for the construction of an oil refinery owned by PT Pertamina (Persero). The assignment received by Barata Indonesia, along with several other companies, was to complete the PT Pertamina (Persero) Oil Refinery Project which became a National Strategic Program. Companies that were members included PT Krakatau Steel (Persero) Tbk, PT Rekayasa Industri, and PT Tuban Petrochemical Industries.
Barata Indonesia, which was previously appointed as the coordinator of the BUMN manufacturing industry cluster, became part of the Project because it was considered to have competence and also long experience in infrastructure development in the field of Oil & Gas. Pertamina Refinery.
Barata Indonesia President Director Fajar Harry Sampurno said “The manufacturing industry must indeed be encouraged to increase competence and capacity in supporting strategic development such as refineries and other heavy industries so as to create a multiplier effect on national economic growth”.
The Development Acceleration Team is expected to be able to complete the Priority National Strategic Project in 2026 in the context of achieving production of 2 million barrels per day.
Previously Barata Indonesia was also involved several times in various projects in the oil and gas sector, including LPG Spherical Tank Pulau Layang 2×1500 MT; Fuel and Gas Terminal in Tegal Cap. 14600KL; RFCC Pertamina UP IV Cilacap; Hanasudin Avtur Integrated Storage System; RU V Fuel Tank in Balikpapan; and others.
While in the field of Barata refinery main equipment components have succeeded in producing Tanks, BFW Pre Heaters, Water Cooled Condensers, LT Shift Converters, SS Clad Heat Exchanger, Decoke Drums, CCR Platforming Reactors, Separators, and other equipment components.
