PT Barata Indonesia (Persero) extended cooperation with the Standard Car Truck (SCT) a Wabtec Subsidiary Company, a company from the United States, to export Bogie’s products ( Products that supporting the basic frame of the railroad).

The contract and cooperation extension was carried out at the headquarters of Barata Indonesia, Gresik (23/1) by the President Director of Barata Indonesia, Fajar Harry Sampurno and Mickey Korzeniowski, Vice President and General Manager, Wabtec Freight Car Division from Standart Car Truck.

The two parties agreed to extend the contract whereby Barata Indonesia exports the railroad component, Bogie through SCT.

Mickey Korzeniowski, explained the good relations between Barata Indonesia and SCT had been built for 22 years. From a small foundry company from Southeast Asia, it became one of the leaders and main suppliers of the Wabtec global market.

“This would not have been possible without the extraordinary support of the Government of Indonesia, capital investment, strict compliance with product quality and hard work from all parties from Barata Indonesia,” Mickey said. “Barata Indonesia’s strong tradition regarding quality and timely delivery of products makes them an important partner for Wabtec in the future,” he added.

On the other hand the President Director of Barata Indonesia said that management continued to maintain good relations between Barata and the SCT that had been created for the past 22 years.

“We are also grateful because thanks to our collaboration with SCT all this time, it has helped boost the image of the Barata Indonesia foundry factory to become a competent and go international factory,” said Harry

In the collaboration it was stated that the two companies agreed to extend the contract until 2030 by increasing Bogie’s export volume, from initially 2000 Bogie carset per year, rising to 5000 Bogie carset per year. With an export value of up to 337, 5 billion Rupiah per year (dollar exchange rate of Rp. 13,500).

Barata Indonesia, which was established in 1971, has indeed supplied railroad components for domestic and export needs. To meet export quality standards, the foundry factory (foundry) owned by Barata Indonesia has pocketed the AAR (Association of America Railroads) certificate as a condition for being able to penetrate the export market to the USA & Canada.
