The members of the PT Pertamina (Persero) Oil Refinery Development Acceleration Team immediately moved quickly, following the issuance of a Decree from the Minister of SOEs RI.

Monday, (20/1), the kick off of the PT Pertamina (Persero) Oil Refinery Development Acceleration Program was held at the PT Barata Indonesia (Persero) Heavy Machining Center Workshop, Gresik, East Java.

Present at the event, several Ministry officials, including the Ministry of Industry, the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources, the Ministry of Trade, and the Head of BPPT and several officials from companies involved in the project.

The kickoff was carried out as a form of joint commitment from all parties involved for the work of Pertamina’s Oil Refinery Development Acceleration. The plan is to have around five (5) Oil Refineries and two (2) Gas Refineries, which are predicted to be completed in 2027.

The assignment was also motivated by the government’s efforts to increase the percentage of Local Content in the National Strategic Project and to reduce the amount of oil and gas imports.

He appointed Barata Indonesia as a member of the team to accelerate the development of oil refineries, because Barata was considered to have long experience in the manufacturing industry, including the oil and gas industry. The products produced by the company have also been able to be exported to several countries abroad.

This was evidenced by the value of the company’s exports which rose each year. In 2019 Barata Indonesia recorded an export value of 31 million USD. That value increased significantly when compared with the value of exports in 2018 which reached Rp. 16 Million USD
