President Director of Barata Indonesia Fajar Harry Sampurna said  Minister of SOE’s  Erick Thohir ,wanted to form a National Manufacturing Industry Cluster. One of The Goal is to support The Completion of National Strategic Project , one of them is acceleration of Pertamina refinery construction.

“We were asked two main ones, namely to support the acceleration of the construction of Pertamina and PLN refineries,” Fajar said in Jakarta, Tuesday, January 7, 2020.

He added that this year Barata would export to 17 countries and increase exports. The export destination countries include the United States, Mexico, Canada, several European countries, Japan, Egypt, and several Asian countries.

“Then the construction of a new heavy machinery factory in Gresik. But the turbine plant is in Cilegon,” he said.

Previously, PT Barata Indonesia supported the implementation of the project to accelerate the construction of an oil refinery owned by PT Pertamina (Persero) which was included in the national strategic program.

The Minister of State-Owned Enterprises (BUMN) of Indonesia through Decree Number 284 / MBU / 11/2019 has appointed PT Barata Indonesia (Persero) to be a member of the acceleration team for the construction of an oil refinery owned by PT Pertamina (Persero).

The assignment received by Barata Indonesia, along with several other companies, was to complete the Oil Refinery Project owned by PT Pertamina (Persero) which became the National Strategic Program.

The assignment of Barata Indonesia was also motivated by the government’s efforts to increase the percentage of TKDN in the Pertamina Refinery Megaproject.

Fajar said the manufacturing industry must indeed be encouraged to increase competence and capacity in supporting strategic development such as refineries and other heavy industries so as to create a multiplier effect in national economic growth.
